Rumble — The American tennis player Tennys Sandgren has earned much of his career success in Australia. But this year he chose to stay at home, in protest of its vaccine mandates. I spoke to him about why he made such a self-sacrificing decision in defense of this principle, the Novak Djokovic controversy, and vaccine mandates generally.
At least Sandgren refused to play in protest regarding the vax and I respect that. Djokovic has acted like a fool. Is anyone aware of what Sandgren went through several years ago? Tenneys was doing very well in the 2018 Australian Open, so some sports writer looked at his social pages and found that he had been on some “alt right” web sites and referred to them as “very interesting”. In addition, he also made a comment about Serena Williams being “disgusting”. What he was referring to was how Serena really treats her opponents, and how she gets by with murder on the courts with her antics. Instead, it was interpreted as a racial slur against Serena. It has basically destroyed his tennis career.
So basically, Sandgren is a white supremicist, and a social pariah in the tennis world. However, Naomi Osaka can refer to the USA as a genocidal country, making millions, and the darling of tennis. Go figure.
How did Joker act like a fool?
Sounds like a fairly easy decision when ones life is in jeopardy when taking the experimental gene therapy.
Djokovic has been against the vaccine from the beginning which is fine, he has had COVID twice. The world knows the deal in Australia, they have been brutal against their own people. So how did he think his number #1 world ranking was going to exempt him and he would be allowed to play? He has pissed off the other players and infuriated the people of Australia.
He would have been a world hero had he said, I refuse the vaccine, don’t believe in it, and I will not participate in the Open. Instead, he bullied his way in, was caught lying and he is on his way to Dubai.
He was given an exemption along with about 10 other players. Based in that, they all flew to Australia and some had already played when the govt decided to change their minds. Djovick had a judge rule in his favor. Then the govt decided to over rule the judge. It was handled very poorly by those people.

why would he flaunt his presence with kids when he knew he had tested positive and it was bound to come up later.

while I suppose it is possible to check the wrong box about your travel before entry...he should fire the person responsible.

Btw, Melbourne has always been Tennys’ best tournament, so this principled stand ain’t cheap for him. My man.
They need to hold their own tennis match on same day and time and tell the Aussies to go fornicate with themselves.

So the hell what! The PCR tests were not reliable at all. Thats why the CDC replaced them on the 31st. How does someone test twice for something they already had that you cant get again….UNLESS YOU ARE VACCINATED!
I agree with you. Let’s take Sandgren, he stated he does not believe in the vax and so he opted out of the A Open, even though he has done well there. His current ATP ranking is 93 and earnings of 3.3 million he knew they could care less if he played. On the other hand Djokovic who also has stated he doesn’t believe in the vax is #1 in the world and earnings of 154 million dollars, a net worth of 220 million, so Joker tried to use his power to push his way into the tournament. Sandgren didn’t have a private jet, endless money for a legal fight and knew there was nothing he could do. So how would that have been fair to Sandgren or any other player for that matter, if they allowed Djokovic?
Djokovic is there to defend his title. Sandgren can only be worth the money and be the Riddler or catwoman or WTF ever if he beats Djokovic. I fail to see Djokovic as a COVID threat playing a sport on a court, social distanced from the audience, his opponent, and the refs (even the ball retriever’s) This isn’t a Djokovic issue when there are already over 100,000 Austrialian COVID cases, and he’s being tested with tests that don’t work, and are being manipulated by a tyrannical government. Focus on the real bad guys!
Ok. But Djokovic broke a lot of rules, like traveling with COVID in December. which he took responsibility for and apologized by saying he made some “bad choices”. He Incorrectly or dishonestly completed the VISA docs. It’s a real shame that he can’t compete in what could be a record breaking grand slam tournament, maybe he should have followed the rules, as draconian as they are. Other players did.
Oh and I fail to see the threat also, it is ridiculous. But it’s their rules.
So if he really did have COVID while traveling, how did he get it again? He’s probably like most of us lunatics that take just D3, zinc and vit C and never got it. But trying to convince anyone that something so cheap, easy and simple is that powerful, in front of a bunch of assholes buerocraps that have no idea of how to control a virus or protect themselves wearing cloth masks that don’t work, is probably futile. I think in his sport where he is isolated to a half of a court, only comes in contact with a person to shake hands at the end, he probably sees the whole thing is ludicrous!
He had COVID in June of 2020 and in December of 2021.
He is the only Case in history to have it twice without being caccinated.
