'The Godfather' to Return to Theaters for 50th Anniversary

I agree, seeing it in a theater is different from watching at home. I don’t have a wide screen TV, haven’t kept up with the latest home entertainment technology.

But, that doesn’t affect the lustre of I & II.

Brando, Duvall, Pacino, Vagoda, Castellano (who had real mob family members),James Caan, and Cazale (Fredo) all had stellar performances

I was also imprssed by Talia Shire's performance. I once had an Italian-descended fiancee. I had flashbacks during her tantrum (and I did nothing nearly so egregious as Carlo did.

Love the first two but how they ever cast that whining liberal biatch Keaton is beyond me. I cringe every time she’s on screen. They couldn’t have blown her up in a car instead of Apollonia?

Oh, I didn’t break any of those sorts of rules. Certain Italian gals could get quite worked up and break things and scream over not meeting her schedule, not being able to drop everything and deal with a trifle, etc., and brothers and parents don’t get involved on that stuff.

Did they have any transgender Mafiosi? There will be if there is ever a remake of the film. Thinking Al Pacino is the right age to reprise his role of Michael Corleone - now the age of Don Vito.

I'm not a big fan of movies made after Hollywood's Golden Age, but Godfather I and II are classics.

Coppala re-edited GFIII -CODA, and I was shocked at how much better it was, and once again, right at the end he screwed it up when Micheal dies. It was was better in the original GFIII

NBC once presented the first two Godfather movies, along with the deleted scenes, in chronological order instead of bouncing between 1900 Sicily and 1950s Lake Tahoe. Really made the whole story easier to follow. I wish that were available on DVD somewhere.
