I thought that the 435 number was out of the 1910 census, and the total Seats was settled in the 1920s.

Anyhow, there used to be a site (likely still around) called ‘thirtythousand.org’ and though I have been to it many times, it has been a while for me.

My mind is so blown. This makes so much sense. This makes representation LOCAL and not REGIONAL. BTW thirtythousand.org is working. Thank you. Why isn't this a thing?

The framers of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights intended that the total population of Congressional districts never exceed 50 to 60 thousand. Currently, the average population size of the districts is nearly 700,000 and, consequently, the principle of proportionally equitable representation has been abandoned.
