Re The veil is being lifted:
That’s the truth that is so hard to accept: look at the numbers of pedophiles being caught everywhere... and that’s just the ones who are caught! The “most people are good” belief just doesn’t fly with me. People are flawed. Many people are very flawed. Satan owns this world and prowls freely, ruining souls. Humans have to WORK at being good.
The book of Job is the reality. Life is a painful, deadly test. A multitude of children live lives of misery and death. Adam and Eve looked into God’s loving eyes and still chose to sin. The apostles felt Christ’s love EVERY day and saw His miracles and STILL ran away when He needed them. Americans, the most blessed people on the planet, choose to stay blind.
It seems to me only half of humanity, at best, is trying to be good.
O Lord, what are human beings that you spare a thought for them, or the child of Adam that you care for him? Yet you have made him little less than a god, you have crowned him with glory and beauty, made him lord of the works of your hands, put all things under his feet...
Help us, Father.
I really liked this post. It is hard to be good. I guess part of life is failure and regret. So while the feeling of not being worthy is a part of life, the gift of forgiveness is the promise. A second chance for those who are willing to grab it.
