It is sort of ironic that when the rest of the Nazis were burning books Himmler was stealing them, including a large number of Judaic volumes that otherwise might not have survived the war. He was looking for some sort of mystical occult secrets while the Red Army was marching his way, notably unimpressed.

There’s a lot of stuff out there about Himmler and his occult leanings. I mentioned wikipedia because that’s the first place a lot of people look.

Many years ago I was launched into the occult history of WW2 through the book “Spear of Destiny”, the story of the men who possessed the spear that stabbed Christ on Golgotha.
Herod was the first leader to possess it and Hitler the last. If it is indeed the authentic artifact it now sits in the Hofsburg Museum in Austria which I’ve visited twice. Lots of other interesting pieces there to see.
Rudolf Steiner was one of the first targets of the Nazis who were blamed by some for burning the first Goetheanum in Germany in 1922.
Because they hated Steiner so much I found him an interesting man to study. Time well spent though his books were at times tough to penetrate
Funny how books lead to more books. I’d guess that reading tributary resulted in over 100 books.
