The founders knew a republican form of government required virtuous citizens who believed in God and rule of law. That situation does not exist today. Too many people in government, elected and not, are not moral, they are corrupt. In addition they have contempt for the citizens they represent and their actions demonstrate that contempt.
When one’s “values” are self determined, and not based in scripture or law, they are ever changing to fit the situation. Hence, the progressive can justify lying to save the nation from Trump. The progressive can justify the stealing or destruction of property by historically disenfranchised people. The progressive can justify forcing unvaccinated people into being injected with substances the state deems for the common good.

Have to checked with local clerks to see who is applying for public office in your neck of the woods? Do you have a battery of questions you can ask them as a way to learn the extent of their fidelity to the Constitution?
