Vaccine injury database VAERS considered unreliable, ‘subject to biases’

A public database that collects reports of vaccine side effects and injuries isn’t considered a reliable source of information about risks associated with COVID-19 vaccines.

Established in 1990, the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) collects reports of potential side effects from licensed vaccines. Interest in the database, publicly available online, has grown since COVID-19 vaccines were approved, but the data can be misleading if used to make a direct connection to the reported deaths and injuries.

Dr. . Russell Bush, director and chief medical examiner at the Michigan Institute of Forensic Science & Medicine, said conclusions shouldn’t be drawn from the raw data, since it doesn’t include the result of a review by researchers.

“With any public open data-collecting system, the input cannot be verified as a true and accurate assessment, nor can ‘cause and effect’ relationships be directly determined in the vacuum of a database,” Bush said. “The researchers look for signs, symptoms, outcomes trends and outlier occurrences that may require follow up by delving into the medical histories of affected individuals.”

Health officials and VAERS itself warn that the database is prone to bias and doesn’t provide an accurate picture of vaccine side effects. Anyone can submit a report, and VAERS accepts all reports without determining whether adverse effects were actually caused by vaccines.

The VAERS website includes a lengthy disclaimer about how the data shouldn’t be used to draw conclusions about the safety of vaccines. It also notes that reports account for a fraction of all adverse events, but serious events are more likely to be reported.

Even if the quality of the reports is not the best the quantity of reports is what is of concern.

RE: the quantity of reports is what is of concern

Cane hackers not put garbage data into it to make the vaccines more dangerous?

My understanding is that submissions are reviewed and you can get in actual legal trouble if you enter fake or malicious reports.

5 years ago: “The CDC is science and only posts the truth in VAERS”
Now: “The CDC is science and the VAERS site is co opted by right wingers”

So, we can say with confidence that the injuries are real but it is still questionable whether or not they are caused by the vaccine?

Projecting again!

I suspect the bias is weighted toward NOT reporting vaccine events.

I base this on all the other bias’ exhibited by the medical establishment which go one way, favoring the “vax”.

Federal government: “COVID is a serious problem.”
Citizen: “According to VAERS, the vaccines are a serious problem.”
Federal government: “Seriously? You can’t believe what the government says. It’s all bogus.”

What a joke! If anything, the numbers injured or dead from The Vaxxxes are underreported. By VAERS and everywhere. There is too much pro-vaxxx bias in the US and almost all developed nations.

Of course - it's a totally open database that anyone can add to, whenever they want. Literally anyone could create fake entries such as those who wish to scare Americans off from getting the vaccine. That could include state actors (Russia, China, etc) that want to cause America further harm, or even passionate anti-vaxxers.

There's of course no way to tell which VAERS records are true and which aren't, but the strong likelihood is that there are at least "some" VAERS records of dubious origin..

Sounds like he is talking about fraudulent elections with rampant ballot harvesting, no voter ID, and ballot drop boxes!

Before the Scamdemic, VAERS, Antiviral Meds -— Good.

Scamdemic hits in March 2020 and Clot Shots arrive January 2021, Antiviral drugs and VAERS —— Bad.

See a pattern folks?

Strange to live in a real life Twilight Zone episode that is never ending...

So what is the reliable private database from which they source the data to substantiate the claim that the vaccine is free of side effects, and where does that data come from and what proportion of side effects are entered into it?
If there is no such system and this one is bunk, how do they know what is or isn’t happening?

As compared to the CDC who is still claiming that no one has died from the vaccine?

I had an adverse reaction to a vaccine. Without going into details, I had never had a reaction like that before, have not had it since, and it occurred shortly after receiving the vaccine. When I reported it to my doctor, she explained it away and did not report the adverse reaction. I remember the form was fairly complex, so it would have taken some time and effort to fill it out.

My point? In my opinion, many (most?) vaccine adverse effects are never reported.

Sounds fair. Could be that sick and miserable hypochondriac people like to complain to their doctors and the whole vaccine theatre puts them into a tizzy and makes them the star of their show. But it could also be doctors who see something unusual and are just looking for a way to report it.

But my understanding is that their are a lot of reports compared to other widely used vaccines. So it can’t just be blown off lightly.

This whole thing, covid and the vaccine reminds me of the 2006 Michigan affirmative action constitutional amendment. We were warned and practically threatened by the sheer overwhelming chorus to vote no.

All government, media, education, business, labor, religion, law enforcement and health care proclaimed it would be the worst thing ever but it passed by 58 to 42 anyway.

Proving I hope, that at some point the people can discern what is truth and act upon it.
