Well, it was originally researched and developed as a vasodilator to increase blood flow and oxygen in the body.

The military had it on hand in Afghanistan because it could be used to treat altitude sickness when troops were in the mountains.

On a side note, would this be a prime example of using a drug “off label”? Something I thought was extremely verbotten by Fauci, et al and regarding ivermectin and HCQ.

I think nitric oxide (often used by athletes or body builders) has pretty much the same effect.
