Germany on Friday shut down half of the six nuclear plants it still has in operation, a year before the country draws the final curtain on its decades-long use of atomic power.

In keeping with the proud German tradition of not being completely insane.

What could go wrong? Everyone knows that in Germany the sun always shines, the wind always blows, and the Russians will never turn off the pipeline that supplies them with natural gas in the middle of the winter.

If they really wanted clean energy, they would build more. Someone’s getting paid.

No worries, Germany. The nice gentleman pictured below will be happy to help with your energy shortfall. At what price...well, that’s another story.

What did Germans use before firewood to heat their homes?

Nuclear energy is the safes energy known.
It is just that people are scare by “radiation”, getting killed by suffering antagonizing cancer death.
The nuclear safety guidelines are way (orders of magnitudes) overprotective!

Facts -
1) Nobody (0)died of radiation from Fukushima!
2) Nobody (0) died at Three mile island!
3) ~47 people died from Chernobyl disaster, couple of hundreds got seriously sick there. Chernobyl was caused by chain of subsequent six errors, each of them could stop it. And that was Soviet era reactor, not the safest design!
4) Even in Hiroshima/Nagasaki the cancers among survivors increased by “statistically significant” 5%!
It is estimated that Hiroshima/Nagasaki killed by cancer about 334 initial survivors! (most people there burned to death or were otherwise killed by the explosion, not by the radiation.)
5) There are few and far between minor nuclear accidents which killed/got sick some more people. Mostly by gross negligence.

People who work in the nuclear power industry have a lower rate of cancer than the general population. The same is true of professional pilots and people who live at high altitudes who also have a higher level of radiation exposure.

German nuclear power could suffer serious problems if there was an earthquake with a tidal wave. Of course therefore a German Godzilla could emerge. Or perhaps a huge manatee.

Another example of Angela Merkel pandering to a lunatic constituency group. At least it’s not as bad as opening the country to a flood of migrants and fake “refugees.”

Germans love their cold. Shivering in the dark is a long time favorite, now a full time reality. Next year, even less power as the remainder of those evil power plants shut down.

Putin is all smiles.

Then they must have really loved Stalingrad.
