Gaetz: I was the first member of Congress to pledge that I will nominate Donald J Trump for Speaker of the House and people like to laugh but you know what? They laughed at the idea of him becoming president too. And that happened. So speaker Trump’s got a pretty good ring to it to me.

Sadly I don’t think enough of the House republicans would support it.. I would LOVE to see Trump nipping the illegitimate administration for the next 2 years until he is re-elected for a third term as speaker of the house...
However, I don’t think that the house members will do it.
For the record, there is NOTHING in the constitution that says the speaker MUST BE a member of the house.
Btw, anyone who believes Trump would settle for second fiddle is suffering from some kind of delusional disorder... Not going to happen.
Need 67 votes in the Senate to remove...
While I have no doubt we are heading for a TIDAL WAVE PICKUP for the GOP next Fall.... There is no way for them to get 17 seats.
Though, given what happened in NJ in November... I would not be surprised to see the GOP take some senate seats no one expects, but there are only a total of 13 Democratic seats up this fall.
So even if the GOP were to completely run the table, they would only gain at a max 13 seats.
You would need to get 4 Democratic Senators to vote for removal.... and right now, like it or not, you won’t find them... especially if it means a Republican rises to the White House because of it. I just don’t see it.
Even if the Dems wanted to remove them, I just don’t see them doing it with the result being a GOP president

That’s right. All things considered, this is laughable. Trump would never stoop to that level.
I’m all for a Pinochet-like coup, but I don’t see it coming. I hope I’m wrong.
That’s probably the only game plan that could save the country.
For me personally, that last thing I want is yet another lawyer turned career insider politician....I’ve had a belly full of these AH’s for 40+ years.

Hopefully Trump will announce his plan to run for the House during his January 6 event, as it’s absolutely the best most powerful thing he could do right now. Gaetz knows this and is probably trying to tempt him into it, rather than it being based on any inside info, but Trump seems much more interested in keeping a low profile these days. Guess we’ll see.

Why should he want to run for the house? It’s been pointed out numerous times that he need not be a member to become Speaker.
Because no one has ever been Speaker who wasn’t a member of the House, one reason is because legally it’s not perfectly clear in the Constitution and could be challenged, plus it would be cheesy as hell and probably frowned upon by many who may not then vote for him for President. That would be like someone calling themselves Doctor when all they really have is some honorary degree, but to the Nth scale. He should do it right or not do it at all,
