This is forty-seven year old lie. Today, it ends.

Interestingly, when the Bronx River Parkway was built in the 1920's it was viewed as an environmental measure, meant to stop waste and pollutants being dumped into the Bronx River. If ALgore, the WWF, Sierra Club and other tree huggers were around back then they'd be 100% supportive of Robert Moses' parkway projects. The problem with the parkways manifested with the building up of the suburbs after WW2 which made many stretches of those roads effectively obsolete and inadequate to handle the extra traffic. So much so, when I got my learner's permit as soon as I turned 16 in 1972 the DMV handed me a list of parkways I was forbidden to drive on until I turned 18, the older parkways were that dangerous before they were reconstructed. Even today some parts of those roads are rather treacherous especially in bad weather.

The “racist” tag on Moses is forever.
For decades the logo for Jones Beach had been the sea horse. Tbe logo was EVERYWHERE in the park. Even the black-light stamp that was put on your hand at the pool to allow re-entry was the seahorse. A crab was the logo for Captree State Park at the other end of the barrier island. Last time I was there (2008?) the sea horses were gone, replaced by the crab. I stopped into an office at the park to find out what happened to the sea horses. The black lady behind the desk explained that the NY State Park Commission had decided that sincd Moses was such a racist, the Commission wanted to remove any link to him and that the sea horse logo could no longer be permitted.
At this point I realized that any discussion with this imbecile was fruitless, so I never asked about the Robert Moses Bridge over Fire Island Inlet or Robert Moses State Park on Fire Island.
