Apparently the experts have always used “COVID”. Just that this is specifically COVID-19 (COVID discovered 2019).
I am too lazy to use all those syllables so I just call it COVID.
FYI “cold” and “coronavirus” are not the same thing, there are quite a few colds (60-70% of them) that AREN’T caused by coronaviri.
