Did they consider insulin resistance or diabetes in their study? Doubt it, those people tend to drink diet soda more than average. They could pick up a bottle of water instead but the price of water is often as much or more than soda.

Seems more likely being fat causes fatty liver disease.
I once worked with a guy who must have weighed 400 lbs. He coincidentally drank 8-10 16 Oz diet cokes every day.

I drink one on occasion so I am not going to worry about it. All things in moderation. I was out raking leaves in the cold today and came in find my wife had made me a cup of got tea with Kentucky whisky in it. That’s better than soda.

Pretty useless without a BMI attachment to gauge
the effect with in my opinion.
Every article I’ve followed from Cleveland Clinic
studies mention the weight problems directly.

I avoid high fructose corn syrup like the plague. My cholesterol dropped when I got away from the stuff. The bad news is I drink diet soda pop all the time.

You eat a lot of refined sugar items and drinks, this will occur as well.
You can get cirhossis of the liver from large amounts of refined sugar intake.
