Officer Tatum: "Alec Baldwin WAS NEGLIGENT and should be CHARGED"

Normally I will not focus on little fish like Baldwin, but this time it's important. Baldwin represents everything unAmerican. Baldwin has openly called for his political enemies be locked up without trial. Not just locked up, but tossed into dungeons (paraphrasing) for especially harsh treatment. Without trial.

Let's face it, a lot of US Citizens are just not American. Baldwin wants our Constitution ripped apart and burned. Wildly anti-gun and characterizes us as stupid, criminal, reckless, for demanding we stick to the Constitution -- the same one will stick to attempt to see he receives a fair trial for the crime of killing a woman and shooting another.

Let's be clear: based on what I have seen so far, we don't even KNOW that it was 'accidental.' The media on whole knows so little about firearms that nearly all of them are calling it an 'accidental' 'misfire.'

This was NOT a misfire. A misfire goes "click" and nothing happens. Like the gun version of a dud. If this were a misfire, nobody would have heard about it.

Probably.
Someone hands you a weapon, the assumption should always be that it is loaded.
Life is not a movie.

“In the US military, if you negligently fire a round and kill someone, you will be charged with murder. If you negligently fire a round causing no injury at all, and you are in a special operations unit, there is a good chance you will be kicked out of the unit. Would you trust a pilot who forgets to drop landing gear?”

From the article. And true. But also true for non-military. There was gross negligence here. That’s not a simple accident.

Has anyone here previously read of the incident being labeled a “misfire?” I haven’t.

All politics aside, Baldwin was the producer. If incompetent people were hired, and if egregious violations of safety practices occurred, the buck stops with him. Would it be any different if another actor had fired the gun?

Yes, I saw where it was labeled as a "misfire". Written by a leftist idiot who knows nothing about firearms and couldn't tell the difference between a hangfire and a hangnail, let alone a misfire.

Why would he point the gun at her in the first place, even so she had no part in the movie and then pulled the trigger twice was he just showing off and fooling around? Even so in my opinion he is just an ignorant, hypocritical, blow hard actor, like most of them are there is no reason why he couldn’t have looked and checked what this six shooter was loaded with.

In case of a revolver quite easy to do and when the cartridges looked suspiciously like the real thing he should have said “Wait a minute and lets find out” Well maybe I am asking too much. But when it comes to guns, the first mistake also could easily be the last one. And by the way I have nothing against guns and have been shooting and re-loading for the better parts of forty years.

Anyone who wants to cut him some slack should consider this. Alec Baldwin pointed a firearm at another human being knowing that there had been a gun mishap on the set that day. Due diligence would have required that not only should the safety protocols be reviewed, they should have been upgraded. I mean if you had an incident, wouldn't you be extra careful when you pointed that weapon at another person?

Furthermore, they were having issues with unions. I put nothing past them. Issues like that should have raised the importance of following all safety protocols. Check, double check, maybe even cancel. All live rounds should have been removed from the set. There should have been a zero tolerance for them. Remember, Baldwin wasn't just an actor, he was a producer. These responsibilites fall to him.

Yup. Baldwin has potential criminal liability as the movie's producer, though he doesn't as the shooter. The stories I've read about previous accidental gun shots on the set, one involving the same gun he killed someone with, make that very clear.

And I doubt any movie insurance company will ever deal with Baldwin as a producer again.

Hand me a firearm and the second I take possession of it, I’m responsible for everything it does. It’s not the piece of metal. It’s the person who pulls the trigger.

I looked and, yes, it is out there in a few places, all right. Mostly just in the headline, but even in the body sometimes. SMH

“And I doubt any movie insurance company will ever deal with Baldwin as a producer again. “

For almost every tragedy there is usually a silver lining.
