Right now there are four Mexican gents fixing my carport roof. I am amazed by the work ethic shown by these four men, they don’t chit chat, they don’t stand idle and smoke, they just work. My roof is going to get done today, weeks ahead of schedule by four men who barely speak any English. The jobs were there and they saw an opportunity and I hope they get paid well for their labors.
For the record I’m 60 with health issues and had to hire this job out, I’m not lazy, just grateful there are still hard working men in this country.
Congratulations, you are adding to the problem by providing employment for illegal aliens.
And you’re paying them cash under the table, too.

They’re probably not even Mexican. More likely Central American.
You don’t know their citizenship status sparky. Kind of racist too to assume that.
Get them off the roof and let them show you what they can do in the kitchen.

Not all are illegals; some work here on guest worker visas. Meanwhile, millions of American “workers” sit on their asses collecting “stimulus” money.
I called a local service to power wash my house.
They sent over someone who couldn’t speak English.
The guy was here for 9 hours. Did the house, walkway, driveway and blew out the gutters and downspouts.

When I needed windows I specifically told the sales reps that I would be checking IDs and only legal resident aliens or citizens would be allowed to work on my house.
I got a crew of Americans who did a great job.

They grew up in a country with no welfare system - if you don’t work, you don’t eat.
I on the other hand, had a couple of young 20’s something, American entrepreneurs that spoke English just fine over to cut up a treefall and take down the rest of the tree.
They showed up, got the job done fast, and were almost apologetic in what they charged me.
The owner of this small business lives just down the road with his young wife and two young kids.
I’m glad there are still people who work hard too.
And a lot of us are about to join them sitting on our asses. It’s called a work stoppage protest.
