I met LTC West in the early Tea Party Days in FL.
I have ridden with him in motorcycle parades and rallies for our Veterans.
I admire him, and like him very much as a person.
I am offering prayers for him, and Angela, and his whole family, for healing, victory, and renewed strength, in the name of Jesus.
And was West infected by his wife, or was it the other way around?
Huge difference between Mrs West "testing positive" and LTC West getting quite ill, being hospitalized with 85% spO2 and requiring supplemental oxygen. As pretty much ALL freepers agree, "cases are meaningless", only hospitalizations and deaths matter.
No one knows exactly how they caught the virus, but it's quite possible they were both infected at an event they attended, since they were attending many together. They announced her "positive test" and LTC West's illness in the same tweet.
"After taking COVID and flu shots, Angela West tested positive for COVID yesterday, Friday. Col. West is experiencing a low grade fever and light body aches. Out of concern for public health, Col. West is suspending in-person events until receiving an all-clear indication".
Fortunately, today's tweets from West sound very positive and they are weening him off oxygen. Hopefully he will recover fully and quickly. And now, LTC and Mrs West will have the high level of immunity that comes with recovering from COVID. Mr West got it the hard way.

If antibody injections have lower risks than vaccines and West suffers no long term harm, West’s decision makes him look smart.
Nothing low risk about an 86% oxygen level.
How much did his show boating cost the health care system? How many doctors and nurses had to care for him? How much long term damage did he do to his lungs?
Could have been much worse if the hospitals were busier, they were out of monoclonal meds, or if he had an “unlucky” reaction.
Smart would have been to get his fat old butt vaccinated. But he got to “own the libs” by tweeting from his hospital bed. What a buffoon.

Cost is not a consideration for someone who can easily pay for an antibody injection, like West, if he prefers it.

Most options have risks. It’s a personal decision. Mentally ill people think they should dictate which of the risky choices another person should take.
Col West is 60 and no where near his former peak physical condition. I’m guessing his BMI is getting up there. That’s enough to make covid deadly, and it obviously hit him pretty hard if he needed advanced hospital treatment.
West chose not to get vaccinated against the recommendations of his doctors, WHO/HSA/FDA/Trump/etc ad infinitum. How many times was he warned?
Trump was the only hope of beating back illegal immigration. It’s a disaster, but illegals getting health care is a total red herring.
Yes, West is a patriot who served with great honor and distinction.
I “trash” conservatives because I want conservatives to win. Ending up on a list of “proud anti-vaxxer who ended up in the hospital or the morgue” is not a good look for West and the dozens before him. A million people will tell West he was a moron for not getting vaccinated and claiming he wasn’t funding “big pharma” while using monoclonal antibody treatment. I’m sure he’ll be just fine.

This still ignores the many cases of fully vaccinated individuals being hospitalized with Covid ( one colleague of mine is an example ). Israel had so many fully vaccinated people hospitalized that they are now mandating a third booster shot ( and even contemplating a fourth ).
So, to say that those many doctors who recommend the use of Ivermectin for prophylaxis are snake oil salesmen simply because Lt. Col. West was infected despite using it ignores the many cases of fully vaccinated individuals hospitalized with Covid as well. Why the double standard?
The physician proponents of Ivermectin never guaranteed a 100% protection, only a high chance of it. That’s not peddling snake oil.
He showed he isn’t rational when he said that ivermectin and vitamin d were ineffective for West. It’s not possible to compare West’s condition to what it would have been had he had a vitamin d deficiency and not taken ivermectin.
That said, given the vitamin d craze, I bet many people have vitamin d excess and that makes them weaker against the wuhan coronavirus.

Anything in excess is bad. What would be the optimum amount of Vitamin D one should take daily?
Now you know what it’s like to go through menopause - at least you know part of it.
