Australia was once a magnet for Hollywood filmmakers hoping to escape America's Covid crisis.
But the country's filmmaking Golden Age has come to an end, as productions jump ship due to Australia's strict lockdowns and border closures.
According to industry bible Variety, Australia's appeal has 'waned' among Hollywood producers in recent months due to the country's low vaccination rate and the uncontrollable spread of the Delta variant.
While filming is technically considered 'essential work' in Australia, many productions have struggled to navigate complicated health regulations and border closures.

Australia deserves to lose the business.
What is happening in Australia is tragic. What is happening to hellyweird as a result....is not. I hope EVERYWHERE shuts down for those weirdo whackos. I’d like to see their microphones shut off too.
Maybe getting rid of pissant Hollywood idiots was their goal. HA
Should have kept them locked up in the penal colony
Maybe we’ll get more comic book movies.
I can’t get enough of those.
More comic book movies with out of place black people.
And gay superheros can’t forget them
VaxMan coming to a theater near you soon.

she then waved her arm and added, “These aren’t the droids you’re looking for.” ...
these productions are rarely mentioned by FakeNewsMSM in Australia, because it would only make people even angrier that these thousands of people are considered “essential workers”, while they are locked down:
