I am very familiar with that area, was last up there in June. My thoughts are that this area was probably as foreign to the victims as it gets. Cornfields, hard working farmers, exclusively white folks, no crime. They must have thought 1) this is Mars we at and 2) we're definitely not coming back.

True, so true. I live on a farm right next to I-94 in Wisconsin. The owner of one local all-night convenience station told us that sometimes, late at night, the travelers might as well be from Mars, they were so strange.
