California Democrats are planning to introduce a bill that would protect employers who require their workers to get vaccinated against COVID-19, and lawmakers already have support from the state's most powerful business lobbyists.
The exact language for Assembly Bill 1102 has not been published, but a circulating draft shows the measure would establish legal protections for employers who mandate the vaccine for their workers or require them to be regularly tested for COVID-19. The proposal aims to deter lawsuits from employees or job applicants who might seek to file discrimination claims against businesses with COVID-19 vaccine rules.

Is California law going to magically protect employers from federal lawsuits?
They want everyone protected except the recipients of these injections.
I will move my company out of California before I require employees to take this vaccine. And that’s coming from someone who decided to take the Moderna shot.
But the big corporations are just going to mandate it, if only to make their lives easier.
Pretty sure that the Democrat pols and unions that run this state see the exodus or destruction of independent businesses as a feature though.
It is Federal Law employers need to worry about , not State Law! big waste of time, they will still be sued and held liable unless Congress changes the Law.

The general counsel for my company told me that an early mandate was made for our 5,000 employees in part to minimize liability. If they did nothing, and someone died of COVID contracted at work, they could sue the employer for not providing a safe work environment
That’s how the pressure is being brought to bear. In our case, it’s Cal-OSHA, but they have stopped short of requiring us to mandate the shots. But they are not being light-handed about it, either.
The preferred method of implementation is becoming clear. They probably won’t mandate individuals to get the shots, they’ll just find ways of financially crippling any companies that don’t make them mandatory. It’s clever, in it’s own sordid way.
Texas is looking better all the time.
