A subset of COVID survivors are suffering from an unexpected side effect known as parosmia, a condition that causes their sense of smell to go haywire. Coffee smells like sewage and chicken smells like rotting garbage. Yara set out to learn how COVID is doing this to people, and what life is like when you smell and taste all the wrong things with no end in sight

Very interesting video, non-political, about people who have lost their sense of taste and smell because of covid..

I was watching this video while enjoying a six pack of Modelo that I bought on sale, and suddenly realized it tastes like carbornated water, and I went to the coffee bag to make sure, I had not lost my sense of smell.

I had this about 2-3 months after I had Batflu. Lasted about 2 weeks. Smelled phantom sewage.

A good friend of mine has this. She had CoVid last December. She lost her taste and smell senses, but when she got them back, they were mixed up. I haven’t seen her in about a month or so, so I’m wondering if it is coming along yet. I will see her in 2 weeks.

I lost my sense of smell when i had covid in February. And I still haven’t gotten it back much. It has to be very strong now for me to get a slight sence. Will try smelling my coffee in the morning.

I’ve heard you can’t smell anything.

I know a guy who got hit in the head and all processed food smells like chemicals.

Start a company to suck out toilets and grease pits.

I had it in January, and it took until May for it to get back to about 99%. I think it still might be off a bit, but what I have is totally acceptable. Hope yours recovers fully.

I spoke to a nurse who completely lost her sense of smell for 9 months after having coronavirus. She was given these 4 small tubs to smell throughout the day- orange was one of them and I can’t remember the others. She did it every day and it triggered something and now she can smell again. Maybe something like that can ‘right’ the smells to the right thing.

That is because processed foods ARE chemicals.

Not that bizarre. Other respiratory viruses can do it. We just don't hear about it much.

Coffee smells like sewage and chicken smells like rotting garbage.

Then I realized I need to stop eating at Dave and Buster's.

My wife, who had a "flu" the end of December 2019, had no energy for 3-4 weeks, and she also lost her sense of smell for a couple of weeks during which she had little to no appetite.

But since this occurred before COVID-19 "officially" arrived in the US, we have no idea what she had. /s

COVID-19 degrades a master antioxidant, called glutathione, in living human cells.

Which is why the FDA recently ordered N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) to be removed from vitamin store shelves, because it dramatically restores glutathione levels.

You can still find it in some online stores or local health food stores, but it is going to be made 'prescription only' and you know what the Biden regime does to helpful prescriptions....
