Detroit — After a video was published Sunday depicting a police officer punching a man in the face in Greektown, Detroit police are reviewing the footage and Internal Affairs is investigating.
The video posted Sunday on Reddit, titled "Detroit pigs handing out the brain damage," appears to show a Detroit Police Department special response team officer winding up and punching a man in the face, who then appears dazed as he tries to sit up.

I'm no cheerleader for the police, even after being one.
But, I also commend them for doing something that not a lot of folks are willing to do and for putting themselves at the mercy of not just the crime and violence, but also of an army of folks second guessing and increasingly challenging them at every turn.
But........this cop if done. I can understand his frustration, but he's fried chicken. His career is over. All for some sh*tbag. Feel for him. He'll be lucky if he isn't prosecuted.
Why any of them do anything more than just show up for work is beyond me. Let the rioters have Detroit. It's not like they're making it worse than it already is. Show up, respond to calls for help from the folks that need the help, other than that, let 'em have it. Not worth it as this cop will soon find out.
I’ve only seen punches like that in cartoons. The dude flew backwards with his cap flying off. Props for him to get up from that.

I hope, for the officers sake, if this thing makes it to a Grand Jury, that the jury is comprised of exactly the person you describe.
It was a sucker-punch; the white cop distracted him and the black cop wound up and delivered the blow. That cop is lucky.
I heard about a kid who went down for manslaughter— a long time ago. It was a street fight and the kid won. He punched the other kid’s lights out. But that kid fell and hit the back of his head on the sidewalk.
It was the second blow that killed him. but that made no difference in court.
You ain’t wrong. And that scenario you described has happened more than once and more than one guy is in prison because of it.
