As you’ve probably already heard, Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser not only conveniently set a mask mandate in the city to go into effect the day after she attended a swanky birthday party in her honor late last week, but on the very day it went into effect she was reportedly seen not abiding by her own mandate.
Bowser’s double standard was just one more on a long list of incidents where Democrats who either called for or implemented strict guidelines about masks were ultimately exposed as political “leaders” who don’t practice what they preach. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has been notorious for doing this on multiple occasions, and President Biden himself violated his own federal mask mandate within hours of his inauguration.
This morning, CBC News White House reporter Kathryn Watson noted what she’s seeing even in the most liberal parts of the D.C. area two days after the mask mandate was put back in place:
"Anecdotally, I was the only person wearing a mask in my building's gym today in a liberal area of a liberal city, despite the reimposed D.C. and building mask requirements. People are simply fed up." 6:39 AM · Aug 2, 2021
Though the evidence was only anecdotal, it lines up with what I’ve read and heard from a lot of people – including liberals – on social media and elsewhere about their feelings on mask mandates at any level of government at this stage of the pandemic.
As I’ve said before, for months now, we’ve been hearing how we need to get vaccinated in order for America to begin returning back to normal, and yet now even vaccinated people are now being told they should mask up. In some areas, like D.C., they’re even being ordered to wear masks pretty much everywhere.
It’s doesn’t make sense to a lot of people, even those who are generally inclined to do whatever the government says concerning masks and other COVID-related guidelines.
For close to 18 months now, well-meaning people on the left and right have followed the CDC guidelines close to the letter, but the contradictory messages coming from this White House about masks and the vaccines as well as the “do as I say but not as I do approach” from Dems have ultimately proved to be a bridge too far for some of those same people. Accordingly, a lot of folks are fed up at this point and are trying to go about their daily lives the best way they can.
Simply put, eyes are being opened on this issue at long last, a nightmarish scenario for so-called “leaders” with authoritarian tendencies like Bowser and other Democrats.
I wish that were true everywhere. Here in the Free State of Florida, they’ve all clapped their masks back on again, cancelled group events, and are basking in the glow of Dem virtue.
I was almost the only one without a mask in my (Jacksonville) Publix yesterday, and they were back to glaring at me and leaping out of my way on the aisles again. I did get vaccinated, months ago, btw, but for a liberal, it’s really the sign of obedience shown by the mask that counts.
While some drug-pushing Freepers are in denial, the reality is that most folks who took the vaccine _believed_ that would make them _immune_ from the virus.
They believed that because that is what they were being told by the experts.
(Of course it was garbage, but it was garbage that the suckers _believed_.)
Now the chickens are coming home to roost...if the vaccinated are told to “mask up” they are going to either ignore the order to get really ticked at whoever gives the order.

For US Freepers, that’s the anti-American CBC actually reporting stuff. I know, I had to listen and watch their crap growing up in BC.
Similar thing happening in my Democrat-leaning town in Illinois. Less than 10% masked.

Made a quick run to Office Depot yesterday. I live in a county in California where the mask mandate is not in effect—yet. I noticed my husband and I and a small number of customers were maskless. The vast majority of the customers and all the employees were masked again. At a grocery store later that evening, perhaps half were masked. California used to be known as the land of the free-spirited. Now it is the land of the conformists.
Fauci first lied to the American public in early March 2020 - “there’s no reason to be walking around wearing masks”
Then a few weeks later, he said everyone should be wearing masks.
His credibility dropped about 70% by that time. He’s been knocking it down further ever since.
These fools and their perpetually moving goalposts.
1. 15 days to flatten the curve
2. Keep your social distance to keep us safer
3. Mask up - we are all in it together
4. Get vaccinated so that we can return to normal
5. Never mind, you can still catch another version even if you’re double-jabbed
6. Cases are up, need to flatten the curve...so on, so on
Even brain-dead leftists can see that this is BS.
Red state governors need to intercept the bus loads of illegals being sent around the country, and put those people on a bus to DC. 50,000 illegals running around DC will have an impact.
Merchant of Death Fauci is about to get his investment return via Delta and Lambda Bioweapons disruption. It would be poetic justice for Death Merchant Fauci to catch the Bioweapon diseases he has financed.
There are some angry freepers here who took the death jab and want the rest of us to share their misery. There are others who are heroic. They took it in good faith and are warning others.
At this point, I couldn’t care less about folks being steamed about me NOT wearing a mask. COVID is just a mild case of the flu. The government’s wild, over-the-top reaction is simply an exercise in control of the masses. I’m not playing their game anymore. Besides, I have had COVID AND I have had the vaccine. Now it is time for civil disobedience or we are all gonna end up as laborers on their ant farm.

As for customers...its a mixed bag when I go in. Nobody avoiding me that’s for sure.

If I go to town....I wear a simple mask. Most don't....

Precisely where a busload of illegal alien males, age 18-30, should be dropped off. There and every other apartment complex, residential mid & high rise, every Peloton-Soul Cycle-Equinox, in the area. And lets not forget the entertainment areas with their sidewalk eateries and outdoor patios.
I was with a church friend today that shared his experience during a recent routine checkup.
He asked his MD if he needed the covid jab, his MD stated emphatically that since he has already had the covid virus there was absolutely NO Reason to get the injection.
Wearing a mask is acting white.
Our small city has 7 covid patients in hospital 2 in ICU. I’ve resisted getting the shot for medical reasons it could do more harm than good. But then cover could as well. It’s such a toss up because I certainly couldn’t say getting the shot would prevent getting it anyway.
I wear a mask when out to stores and amazingly one store said I didn’t need one. Even when I told them I didn’t have the shot.
I think people are just tired of it all. I know I am.
