Titanic museum visitors hospitalized after iceberg wall collapses
Washington Examiner ^ | Aug. 2, 2021

Three guests visiting the Titanic Museum Attraction in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, were hospitalized after the attraction's iceberg wall collapsed.

(excerpt)

The Titanic Museum Attraction offers visitors the chance to explore recreations of the famous ship, including the iconic Grand Staircase and artifacts from the shipwreck.

"As visitors touch a real iceberg, walk the Grand Staircase and third class hallways, reach their hands into 28-degree water, and try to stand on the sloping decks, they learn what it was like on the RMS Titanic by experiencing it first-hand," the website reads.

I thought so. Though a bit too much reality for anyone injured.

Very realistic. Right down to getting injured by falling icebergs.

WOW! That is one realistic exhibition! Did those injured get refunds on their admission? Or is getting injured the PRICE of admission? ;)

I hope Dolly Parton has nothing to do with this. Doesn’t she pretty much OWN all of Pigeon Forge, TN?

Incident took place Monday night?

Close to the end of visiting hours?

Hope the museum has CCTV...

It’s a neat museum.

My only beef when we were there was the spelling and grammar errors in some of the write-ups of artifacts/displays.

There is a Titanic Museum in Orlando, which I thought would be trite, but wasn’t. Two exhibits particularly affected me: (1) there was a large wall of names grouped by family and passenger class, with those in black being the survivors, and those in red being the drowned. It gave you an immediate sense of how devastating the loss was, especially to see whole large families in red. (2) There is a darkened long corridor with chilled air fixed up like one of the Titanic’s lounge decks with chairs and railings. Off to one side beyond the rail is a vista of the dark ocean and mirrored sky with pin-point stars over the horizon. You hear the hiss of steam escaping from the funnels and the muffled confusion from the boat deck above, and it is impossible not to feel that you are there at the event.

It’s a neat museum.

You say that about a museum where a guy was crushed by a giant ice cube?!

No wonder the Titanic sank, it was miles off course, and miles inland in the Smoky Mountains.
