At some point, replacing electronics and batteries began to bore and finally really irritate me. When I realized I just needed to reasonably know the time, I got a mechanical watch. No batteries, 15+ years of service, visible in the dark, day+date, 100 bucks.
Got rid of the pocket-spy 8 years ago.
Now I laugh at people who walk around like zombies staring into those things that run their lives. China’s really got America’s number with these things, too, and that’s not so funny.
I have two, both Seiko, love them.
