I haven’t dove much since I sold my sail boat. But in SCUBA
class we were always taught to try not look like a seal floating on the surface. Get down to the bottom as soon as possible. Sharks look up for food for the most part. I used to dive in areas frequented by Orcas also. Although I think Orcas are a lot smarter than a shark.

Yes, but you do have to ascent the anchor line at some point. Try not to look like an easy mark.
