I don’t think defunding the FBI is the answer, but do we really need 16 or 17 armed federal law enforcement agencies that do not cooperate with one another? Consolidate a few. Roll DHS, ATF and a few others into the FBI and stop the redundancy.

Break up the FBI and the CIA. They no longer serve the people of the United States. It’s Government, for the Government, By the Government, and it won’t go away quietly.

The FBI, DOJ, and CIA don’t even try to hide it anymore. They don’t investigate the politically connected, even if they murder (Covid to Nursing homes), child pornography illegal weapons and payoffs(Hunter Biden), political intimidation and murder (Seth Rich) and now Tucker Carlson (NSA spying and CIA threatening). They throw the book for ‘lying to the FBI’ when they never even lied. They prosecute those who aid free governments like the Ukraine as ‘foreign agents’ but don’t prosecute those who do the same for Russia and China. Hell, they don’t prosecute Chinese military here lying about their status. Not to mention election crimes, never investigated. High level leakers, no punishment, and I could go on.

These are not ‘the peoples’ agencies anymore. They use the power of the taxpayer for their own political devices.

The FBI budget is around 9 billion with 35,000 or so employees they deign to admit having. Can’t really see anything happening to it at this point. That’s a 9 billion dollar tick dug in deep. It was probably too late 50+ years ago to do anything about any of the alphabet agencies, which basically function as guardians of the bureaucratic establishment empire in DC.

It’s really hard to picture any modern politician getting rid of any alphabet agency or even reducing the budgets in the era of the 24 news cycle and our risk adverse culture in any case. What if something happens after cutting the budgets?
