The previous record was $660,000 for a sealed copy of Super Mario Bros. for the NES just set in April.

I know some people are into this, but it is a bit weird to me to want to own a sealed box with contents that will never be seen or used...

for a sealed copy of Super Mario Bros.

And they know it's actually in there how? Break the seal and see? Whoops, there goes the value!

Weren't there reports of people stealing tech from WallyWorld, placing objects of similar weight back in the re-sealed package, returning same for refund, and WallyWorld puts the item back on the shelf? Look, you just bought a paperweight!
