As a naturalized American citizen I would not have enjoyed listening to Traitor Joe...

When I was naturalized in 1975, we were in a courthouse in Portland, OR and the judge was our speaker. He told us that his parents had immigrated from Eastern Europe and he had been born in America. His parents had taught him to love America and had explained how important America was to immigrants and how fortunate we all were to live here. It was a joyful thankful event...

One of our number was a Jewish lady who had escaped with her husband from Poland during the 1930s...her attorney grandson was with her and helped her tell us that she had to perfect English spoken and written in order to become an American...There wasnt a dry eye in the place...

All naturalization ceremonies should be conducted by people who love our country and impress on the participants how lucky they are to become part of America and not to take the opportunity lightly...

On August 13th, i will have been in America for 50 years and every day I am thankful I live here...

and I was born in a British Commonwealth country, another 1st world nation...

I am glad that you are an American Citizen. I hope that those born here that don’t appreciate the gift that was handed to them will learn and change their minds.
