I get a kick out of historians who say early Man could not have navigated the seas because they had no way to keep time. Especially at night with no sun. When there is a huge clock with a linear indicator of time in the night sky. Woke up many times at 4:00 AM right on the nose by Milky Way time. Once you learn to read it for the time of the year it is very accurate.
