I haven't watched an Olympics since the mid(?) 70s. It was a big deal back then. Everyone on the block was tuned in. It was almost like a block party.

Same here. The Olympics used to be a pleasant diversion (like most sports) and a moment that brought national unity and pride to the country. Now it is the exact opposite in which our own athletes may as well be on the opposite teams since they hate America so much.
