Since you have moved, Texas still has occasional scale stops, roving DPS Weight Men, and many municiples with their own Weight Men to pull over trucks at whim.
Unless things have changed EVERY Texas State Trooper carries portable scales in their vehicle. One of the reasons they all used to drive pickup trucks.
They started changing over to SUV’s and the troopers I talked to hated it.
