Cool, thank you. My daughter has a large Cockatoo that thinks it is a dog. It literally “barks” with the dogs when they go off on something. lol

If dogs can accept people into their "pack", then accepting pigeons is actually a step up.

I know. Wasn’t that a sweet video? I had no idea pigeons could be like that.

somebody hurt a pigeon once and i happened across it. went and got a loaf of multi=grain bread for it. when i returned with the bread, a couple dozen other pigeons had arrived and were guarding the hurt bird by circling around it and ministering to it
i think the bird probably was okay, i called a local vet and he said to forget about it. i am not going on his advice because I am not sure he really cared (though he could have earned a good fee had he let me bring the bird in to him). But the bird seemed only to have been grazed, minor wound as best i could tell, so he probably got better. the other birds did not gobble up the bread, they made sure he got it. much higher behavioral standards than most people display, that’s for sure.
and of course pigeons are great navigators and helped make Rothschild rich, smile smile smile
there’s a lot more to these birds than many people think
when the local cafeteria served its weekly “chicken chow mein”, all the pigeons that usually congregated in the patio made themselves absent (at least, I hope that it wasn’t the chef who absented the birds)

We raised pigeons for awhile and they are pretty cool birds. :)

Cool. We had two parakeets when I was a kid. The female was the sweetest bird - she'd stand on the sink and bath herself under the faucet, fly around the house and find a perch overhead, land on your head or shoulder (she loved to hitch a ride), but she barely made a peep. The male, on the other hand, was a hellion. If you tried to touch him, you'd pull back a pinched finger. He wanted human contact his way, not yours. And he learned to talk his head off. Until my mother told him to stop it one day, I discovered that every time he'd walk past the bird cage, Dad would stop and slowly repeat a single curse word until the bird learned it. That bird eventually could swear like a ship's parrot. It was embarrasing at times when someone would come over and the bird would tell them to go eff themselves. LOL!

Don’t pigeons have mites or bugs that you can get from them?
