Pineapple (with Canadian Bacon) = Good
Spinach (especially with mushrooms) = Good
Nothing like an eggplant/squid/mayonnaise pizza
From my television viewing the artsy fartsy foodie types are now putting arugula on pizza.
Is nothing safe from that vile weed?
In this area there is/was a pizza chain called Happy Joes.
Their claim to fame was the “Happy Joe’s Special” which consisted of Canadian Bacon and Sauerkraut as the toppings.
It was quite successful and tasty too. (Many German descendants in the area so maybe not hugely surprising.)
The founder, Happy Joe Whittie sold out or retired or passed away and the chain has floundered. I haven’t been to one in years but there are still a few around.
I think spinach would be OK if it were chopped up finely and mixed in with the sauce. I have done this with sauce I put in stuffed shells or lasagna and it takes the sauce to another level.
The noxious toppings: pineapple, bbq sauce, egg, broccoli, tuna, ranch dressing, corn, and whatever is in a “dessert pizza”.
The others are fine.
I like barbeque sauce on pizza just fine, but why stop with sauce? Pulled pork on pizza is amazing! Now, I’m hungry!
I like chicken with ranch dressing pizza
I like mixing cooked ground beef with buttered onions and bbq sauce and putting it on pizza. The more mozarella the better. It’s delicious.
