You may not be interested in politics, but politics is interested in you.
Many Americans—focused on their businesses, careers, home, and family—prefer to ignore the political battles and attendant controversy dividing our country. But neutrality is no longer an option.
Alexis de Tocqueville wrote about Americans’ love of being left alone. He called it “individualism,” and he fretted that one of the risks to our experiment in self-government was the tendency to retreat from questions concerning the public—political questions—in favor of enjoying our private lives. The risk, he recognized, was that retreating would enable subversion of the whole polity by people manipulating it for their own gain.

Our society has morphed away from anything recognizable even ten years ago. For many, politics was always something away from home, away from daily life. It was somewhere else—often relevant mostly to small things like marginal differences in a tax bill. Not anymore. A corrosive trend has developed: as some become increasingly political and demanding, the cost for others of expressing an opinion—or even ignoring the wrong activist demand—has grown intolerably high. This distorts the public debate, giving the illusion that a vocal group of ideologues is representative of the mainstream, because the mainstream has been intimidated into silence. And as more mainstream Americans find themselves in a country they don’t recognize, they are realizing that remaining apolitical was a luxury of another time.
Political fanatics take advantage of normal people who try to play it down the middle. This holds true in ordinary businesses in Middle America, in elite liberal arts colleges, and in the New York Times newsroom. Many people would rather go about their work and ignore the political battles that increasingly divide our country. But the left will not leave you this option.
In the workplace, “woke” ideologues politicize ordinary activities, conversations, and speech. They compel employers, suppliers, partners, and advertisers to bend to their demands.
These wokeists need strong pushback. Even cancelling them back if they insist in acting on their wokeist impulses. Cancel them back.

Citizenship is a responsibility.
The old Boy Scouts of America had three merit badges about citizenship. To be an Eagle Scout, you had to recognize and demonstrate your citizenship responsibilities at all levels.
In recent years, busy, GOOD people have allowed others to handle citizenship. The “others” jumped in and took over. They have proven to be the worst among us.
When good people do nothing, tyrants take over. It takes a lot of bloodshed to re-take control of a fallen republic.
Obsessed tyrants NEVER give up their control without a major fight. They are addicted to absolute power. Elections obviously don’t matter. They cheat. Laws don’t matter. Constitutions don’t matter. They are ignored.
When many of the German military officers finally realized Hitler was a lunatic who was destroying their country, it was too late and Germany was devastated.
The revolutionaries will not be not satisfied until they cram the Great Reset down our throats. It’s not enough to passively submit to their plans, we must love Big Brother completely. Orwell was incredibly prophetic. A critical part of their program is mind control, a total rewiring of our thoughts and ideals concerning this great American Republic, morality, politics, religion, you name it.
Our minds and those of our children have been assaulted 24/7 by the media, Democrats, neighbors, teachers, “public health directors”, the insidious Fauci, and other assorted leftists so we are exhausted from it all.
Thus softened up, it will be easier to topple us. That’s what they think. We must resist with every fiber of our being and every shred of sanity we still possess. Get rid of the cable, pray, hunker down, surround yourself with good people, and be prepared to fight for your freedom.
They ignored and even abetted Hitler’s evil and horrific plans for everyone else until it became apparent he was going to destroy what they cared about. By then it was too late to stop Hitler and save themselves or the nation.

I fear it’s already too late for us. The evil genie is out of the bottle and isn’t going to go back in.

I've seen roadkill along the side of the road too. That would be the SJWs on the left and the conspiracy theorists/ QAnon types on the right.
We need to fight these people. All of them.
