As I understand it the laws bans business’ from asking a customer his vaccination status, it doesn’t just ban “passports”. Thus cruise lines may not ask a customer if they’ve been vaccinated, thus cannot operate in Florida if they require evidence of vaccination.

You are certifiable.
Nothing, I repeat nothing, is 100% safe. Not even Aspirin.

I was going by what I caught on the news. If you have a link of some kind, I am interested in following this more.

Bill text141 prohibiting a business entity from requiring patrons
142 or customers to provide documentation certifying
143 vaccination against or recovery from COVID-19
The media calls that "passports", but it's actually any documentation proving immunity, vaccine or having contracted covid.

Has this bill passed the legislature and signed by the governor? My understanding is a bill is not yet the law until all signatures are received.
On another point, I have read many news clips of the governors pro-cruise industry agenda. It makes no sense for him to take a stand which will kill the cruise business in Florida.
Thanks for the link, but I never read any 1190 line document since graduating from college.

1127 This subsection does not otherwise restrict businesses from
1128 instituting screening protocols consistent with authoritative or
1129 controlling government-issued guidance to protect public health.

He's
reported to have signed the bill May 3. I think some of the confusion stems from his earlier executive order, essentially the same, not a law. That's how governments should work.
I can't explain how that is consistent with a pro Cruise stance. The vaccine regulation, to the extent it's a concern, only applies to boarding the ship. As I noted in an earlier post, what happens to any other form of transportation, train, truck airplane which requires a vaccination. Are they banned from Florida? Doesn't make any sense that there wasn't any flexibility.
As to the "passport", really just have to read the three lines I linked. Reporters don't read what they report on either, that's why they all use the inaccurate term.

That might be an out, I'm not a lawyer but I read otherwise as other than documentation. Probably would allow them to require a test. As the US does even to vaccinated citizens if reentering the country by air. But still no documentation. I've no particular problem with that though it may not be the CDC's opinion. But being vaccinated I don't like being required to take the test. And don't like the additional restrictions the cruise lines would apply to non vaccinated guests, essentially everyone if you can't verify your vaccination. I think part of it is the pis*ing match between the Biden administration, via the CDC in this instance, and Republican states. With business', particularly cruise lines who have been uniquely impacted, in the middle.

Thinking about it, maybe that would allow the cruise lines, with differing rules for vaccinated and non vaccinated passengers, to allow one to “voluntarily” provide documentation. Join the vaccine club. Maybe not. Still it will be very hard to track who’s a “member” once onboard, rules for the non vaccinated will likely prevail. Time will tell.
