The online retail giant Amazon.com Inc said on Tuesday that it will stop requiring jobseekers to take a cannabis test in the US, in line with laws in a growing number of states.
Amazon will continue to check for other drugs and will keep on screening people for job positions that are regulated by the Department of Transportation, according to the company’s consumer boss Dave Clark.
“In the past, like many employers, we’ve disqualified people from working at Amazon if they tested positive for marijuana use,” Clark said. “However, given where state laws are moving across the US, we’ve changed course.”
Medical and recreational cannabis use has been legalized in a growing number of states, but it remains a classified substance at the federal level. …

Point is, I think they haven't been rejecting for pot use for a while, at least a couple years. Of course, rec use is legal here these days, so maybe that's why they're doing that here.

Or the person who is run over or impaled by a fork lift driver in a distribution center. They thought the job was treacherous before. I wouldn't want to have to be around machinery run by people who could be under the influence.

Is cannabis use compatible with holding on to a job one has been hired to do as a regular employee with a regular schedule. Daily use? Weekly use? Full time? Part time? Graveyard shift? Fully compatible? Marginally compatible? Incompatible? One Guy has his thoughts but would like to hear those of others.
That’s always been the case but when CDW (are they still in business?) sent extra stuff they didn’t want it back and made good on shortages. I guess there inventory program was difficult to use. In Canada they only would ask for test for a reason not everyone has to.
