It’s probably the new politically correct term for “Social Studies” which replaced GEOGRAPHY back in the 70s.

“Social Studies” has changed so much over the years. I have an 11th edition Britannica, full of shockingly un-pc comments about the characteristics of various ethnic groups. And I have social studies textbooks from the 1930’s through the 1960’s that would be burned in the public square today. You would think only geography is safe to teach now! Unfortunately even geography is controversial, just ask the Israelis.

Humanities should be arts and music.

Civics can be a localized year of “Social Studies”.

I had both (social studied and geography).
