McConnell: I am encouraged that the President has committed to refilling Israel's Iron Dome stockpiles. I hope his budget proposal, coming Friday, will make room for increased military assistance to Israel

Do I need to share with you the links of how the u.s. has betrayed the Jewish nation? And still is even today Adolf?
The great rule of conduct for us in regard to foreign nations is in extending our commercial relations, to have with them as little political connection as possible. So far as we have already formed engagements, let them be fulfilled with perfect good faith. Here let us stop. Europe has a set of primary interests which to us have none; or a very remote relation. Hence she must be engaged in frequent controversies, the causes of which are essentially foreign to our concerns. Hence, therefore, it must be unwise in us to implicate ourselves by artificial ties in the ordinary vicissitudes of her politics, or the ordinary combinations and collisions of her friendships or enmities. Our detached and distant situation invites and enables us to pursue a different course. If we remain one people under an efficient government. the period is not far off when we may defy material injury from external annoyance; when we may take such an attitude as will cause the neutrality we may at any time resolve upon to be scrupulously respected; when belligerent nations, under the impossibility of making acquisitions upon us, will not lightly hazard the giving us provocation; when we may choose peace or war, as our interest, guided by justice, shall counsel.
Why forego the advantages of so peculiar a situation? Why quit our own to stand upon foreign ground? Why, by interweaving our destiny with that of any part of Europe, entangle our peace and prosperity in the toils of European ambition, rivalship, interest, humor or caprice?
It is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliances with any portion of the foreign world; so far, I mean, as we are now at liberty to do it; for let me not be understood as capable of patronizing infidelity to existing engagements. I hold the maxim no less applicable to public than to private affairs, that honesty is always the best policy. I repeat it, therefore, let those engagements be observed in their genuine sense. But, in my opinion, it is unnecessary and would be unwise to extend them.
I don’t. But I speak for myself, and for my part, I want the aid ended. Would an Israeli citizen who wants more aid speak for me? This is sophistry.
Common defense? There are no US military personnel involved in Israel’s defense. Neither should there be. The same goes for Israeli military involved in US defense. We get a few billion in aid, that has to be spent buying US military hardware, such as old M16s and M1s, and other obsolete weaponry. We’ve got a kick-ass state-of-the-art rifle that can shoot around corners, perfect for urban fighting, but the purchase of that we finance ourselves. Maybe it was developed with US assistance. That’s fine, as I said. Mutually beneficial.
Many Israelis have had concerns, including Netanyahu. Take the recent crisis, Israel buying missiles from the US to resupply. A system Israel invented. But shared with the US, and let US contractors, in the Iron Dome case Raytheon, share the technology and manufacture the missiles to sell to Israel. Paid for with US funding. Like the Arrow anti ballistic missile system. An Israeli development, but shared and manufactured by Boeing, then sold back to Israel. Unusual relationship. One which also restricts Israel’s export capabilities significantly.
As I noted in my last post , you also purchase disposable components, as in missiles, for the systems Israel develops. My recollection from past criticism Israel has incurred over the use of cluster munitions, Israel has developed a superior shell/bomb with a very short life, but uses many inferior shells which they have to purchase from the US. Inferior in the context of how long they can be triggered. Important to the press, constantly looking for a child who stepped on one.
That’s awful. Puts Israel in the position of Los Angeles, Oakland, and Seattle. Not to mention a dozen Europen allies.
all three branches of government and about 100 years of observable american history disagree with you.
this is usually about the time libertarians wave the constitution around like it’s their personal property — the Pauls are especially prolific at this level of piousness.
Considering how much we spend to prop up tyrants, study the sex lives of transgender Pakistanis, and arm terrorists that are sworn to destroy us, I think arming an ally against a common enemy is money well spent.
I think we should refill Israel’s rocket stockpile if they pay for it.
I am also in favor of cutting off all foreign welfare. We can’t even pay for our own welfare programs.
Are you smoking dope seriously? WTH has happened with this forum you really believe and think that? You’re Debaka nerd you think whatever want too. You’d be surprised I’ll leave it at.
“There’s nothing in the Constitution that states we can’t provide them...”
Actually there is. Try reading it sometime.

“all three branches of government and about 100 years of observable american history disagree with you.”
For almost a century all three branches of Government said slavery was fine. That didn’t make it right.
L
Actually there isn’t you try reading it some time without you rosey right winged marxist iolationist specs on do you think you can do that? I doubt it I highly doubt it.
Go ahead Lurker ravish your right winged statist Marxism promote yell scream isolationism from the roof tops.
You scum sucking regrade Bolsheviks, have control of the conservative movement it’s yours to do with as you please.
But when the graet judgment falls upon this nation and it will as we’re seeing glimpses of it from the unleashment of Covid on this nation to the riots to the supply shock and shortages you Sanatic heathen shall the Lord your God you shall know the land and the people in it are bonded together as one that day you heathen will cry out but the Lord shall not hear.
No. All I'd like is an end to the "our strongest ally" BS.
Israel has never stood shoulder-to-shoulder with American soldiers. Not once. Never even offered. And now, rejecting the Trump administration's serious concerns, invites the Chinese to set up shop a block away from our navy.
We've done enough for the nation state of Israel. We did what was right as she was starting out. Now it's right to allow Israel to stand on her own, grab our checkbook and go.
And maybe, just maybe if we stop replenshing Israel's military and iron dome, Israel might have a reason to find their seat at the negotiating table and a permanent end to the occupation and its backlash.
Israel isn't Loa Angeles, Oakland and Seattle, is she?
And it has to be pretty damn awful for the Trump administration to ask for observers --- which Israel rejected out of hand. BTW, "observers" are something we routinely have at US Ports, as I'm sure you've conveniently forgotten.
Stop making excuses for everthing Israel does. It diminishes both nations.
I opposed all aid to the region, not just to Israel.
That changed the Obama Biden treasonous deal to protect Iran’s nuclear weapons program, ICBM program, and give Iran over 100 Billion. We prevented an Israeli strike on Iran. We undermined Israel’s survival.
This is how I feel. Israel should be able to defend themselves freely.
As always. money comes with strings which limit their capability but they still take it... I suspect the elites are making $$$
The forum is a forum, which means it is open to the expression of diverse opinion. Were you looking for Twitter, perhaps? Furthermore, I am not alone. Rabbi Meir Kahane was opposed to receiving aid from the United States, too. For pretty much the same reason.
In exchange for the 3.5 billion in aid, we get told to stand down and agree to a premature cease fire. Which means Hamas will have time to regroup and get more missiles, and Joseph Stolen gets to virtue signal, while entering into another suicide pact with Iran. America is a valuable ally, sometimes. Trump was great, worth his weight in gold. But not with this administration, and the lever they use has a 3.5 billion dollar fulcrum. Trump would have been worth his weight in gold even without giving us 3.5 billion, because he really was an ally. Stolen wouldn’t be a real ally even if he handed out 3.5 trillion dollars (Shhh! Don’t give him ideas). A snake at any other price would bite as much.
“You’re Debaka nerd you think whatever want too. You’d be surprised I’ll leave it at.”
Incomprehensible.
are you suggesting that we're going to have a civil war over the issue of foreign aid? because that would be required if you're going to start drawing parallels between those two utterly dissimilar things. are you promoting a constitutional amendment prohibiting foreign aid?
just lazy.
“ are you suggesting that we’re going to have a civil war over the issue of foreign aid?”
I wouldn’t be entirely opposed to it.
“ are you promoting a constitutional amendment prohibiting foreign aid?”
Not necessary. We have the 10th Amendment and Article 1 Section 8.
You might want to actually read those sometime. But, you’re lazy so I doubt you will.
