What I’m not getting is why are the British all of a sudden so re-outraged about Bashir, some 25 years later?
People have been calling him a sleazy reporter for years. Maybe there was some recent documentary on Netflix, a cable network I don’t watch.

If someone put Bashir and the Beeb up to this, which I suspect, the real target may be whoever that is.

The story is being choreographed into the "news" to draw attention to Diana's view on the evil in the royal family (they shunned her as a result, and ordered her murder).

The BBC found out shortly after the 1995 interview that Bashir had lied and been deceitful in his attempts to get the Diana scoop and they conducted an internal inquiry but hid the results. They were ratted out by a whistle-blower last year. The BBC is also in hot water for rehiring him after the Palin incident, not because of Palin but because they knew he should have been fired because of his unethical behavior in 1995 and they not only kept him on, they brought him back.
