Activists, Politicians Seek ‘Desegregation’ of California City by Adding Low-Income, Multi-Unit Housing

Piedmont, California, is a small suburb with a population of 10,667 surrounded by the gritty city of Oakland, population 425,097. Piedmont is almost exclusively zoned for single family dwellings and is home to prosperous businesses.

Activists and politicians are trying to end that distinction by forcing Piedmont to build “affordable housing” and increase density by allowing multi-family units.

I would love to make a really snarky, sarcastic comment but I don't know who the people of Piedmont, California, a suburb of Oakland, voted for in November.

If they voted for President Trump, I hate it for them.

If they voted for CornPop and Harris then.....ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. I hope they turn that place into one big, gigantor Section 8 apartment complex. All fun and games when the policies you support, by supporting a certain candidate(even if he is an incompetent moron), aren't staring you right in the face. Great to say how much you care for illegals and the unfortunate when you can retreat to you liberal, hipster enclaves far, far away from the very people you say you care about. Now you just might be able to walk down the aisles of the local Whole Foods with all of them........ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

Piedmont used to be reliably, solidly Republican.

It was the home of people who made money.

Now, it is the home of people who make money from people who made money.

Lots of big Democrat donors living there.

Piedmont has the Ghetto of Oakland on one side and the People’s Republic of Berkeley on the other.

Sort of like Scylla and Charybdis in Greek mythology.

Don’t do it, Piedmont. Your town will be ruined if you turn over too much of it just to keep the BLMs happy. They will NEVER be happy until all Piedmont homeowners are run out of their homes or forced to rent a room out to the poor.
I’ve been in the area, and it’s a very nice, well kept area.

Another major attack on the Middle Class, but if they voted for CornPop and Hair-Ass, then they deserve what they’ll get.

in California this housing is used to destroy conservative areas by the demacrats...there theory is that when you put in this housing you get demacrat voters who sway the area by 4-6 percent. its always by special grants that this is done.

Don’t know how the citizens in Piedmont vote, but they’re in CA-13, a D+40 district, currently “represented” by the communist Barbara Lee.

From some of the comments at the Breitbart site, Piedmont is overwhelmingly democrat, so I say, have at it, dems!

This, from Wiki:

According to the California Secretary of State, as of February 10, 2019, Piedmont has 8,535 registered voters. Of those, 5,082 (59.5%) are registered Democrats, 1,173 (13.7%) are registered Republicans, and 2,022 (23.7%) have declined to state a political party.[17]

From its incorporation until 1992, Piedmont was a Republican stronghold in presidential elections.

My neat and clean rural home town was destroyed in the early 70’s when the government built section-8 housing there. It’s a crime ridden trash pile now.

No más.

But I’m willing to bet that most of those that refuse to say are Republicans.

As someone stated earlier, if there’s money there, especially Democrat money, the chances of this happening are probably slim.

As we all know theLeft doesn’t live by it’s own rules. They’re for us and to ruin our lives.
