Biden as the new FDR: It's the same old bad deal for jobs

BY AMITY SHLAES

President Biden doesn’t want merely to showcase Franklin Roosevelt. He wants to replicate him. As President Roosevelt once did with the New Deal, Biden intends to spend to spur growth, though Biden’s proposals are magnitudes greater. As Roosevelt once did, Biden argues that helping unions helps the worker, and he hopes to undo 27 states’ “Right to Work” option.

The only reason I'm posting this is because Amity Shlaes just might be guilty of supporting Joe Biden last November. I read The forgotten Man-great work. Then there's her book on LBJ's great society. It's brought me to question her motives. Anybody know?

FDR and his communists extended the depression by 10 years with their policies. The democrats today want to destroy the USA itself.

Joe spends more time in a bathrobe and fuzzy slippers, wandering around the White House thinking he’s Eleanor Roosevelt

Well, I’ll give Biden credit for one thing. FDR tried to pack the Supreme Court to help get his policies enacted. At least Biden isn’t thinking about that.

Oh, wait. Biden is thinking about that. Never mind.

The big difference is that none of FDR’s kids severed as bag men bringing “the big guy” his share of the bribes from Germany anf Japan.

FDR KNEW about the Jap attack on Pearl Harbor and actually WANTED the attack using the MccCollum 8 point Memo which was approved 24 hours after meeting Mccollum. It was NOT a coincidence there were NO aircraft carriers at Pearl. What is it with Dummycrats and their thirst for war?

The strollin’ Joe Stolen is just channeling Eleanor Roosevelt, and apparently, doing it quite well.

Eleanor was, if anything, even more “progressive” than FDR.

Growing up all I ever heard were Bad things about FDR, yes I agree his economic polices did make the Depression worse.

On the other hand last year I read Nigel Hamilton’s 3 volume series on FDR as CIC and after reading that I came to have a lot more respect for FDR than I ever did. He was the right person at that time in American History to lead this nation in War, and he had a group of Generals and Admirals that were there also.

That was a Bluff by FDR and the other side Blinked!

FDR was a master politician, something poor Joe could not be on his best days ever.

It’s idiotic to think that the US was ‘surprised’ when the jap code was already broken in 1940, earlier than the Enigma machine.

There were two codes, the Naval code and the Diplomatic code, AKA the Purple Code. The purple code was brown to a degree, the naval code not.

I have read a a few books on this and while there was a heightened level, and there were some terrible mistakes, one being Admiral Richmond Turner and his responsibility in this fiasco.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richmond_K._Turner

The whereabouts of the Japanese Fleet was unknown and at one point the thinking was they would attack the Aleutians, not Pearl Harbor.

All in all a very confusing period.
