Why does there need to be black Superman?
Why must everything be redone and redefined?
Why not create a new character?
Same goes for movie remakes - i.e. the awful Ghost Buster girls version.

Why not create a new character? They did. Cyborg. The character has always been black. He already showed up in a Justice League movie alongside white Superman.
They are already producing a backstory movie just about Cyborg.
Not sure how they're going to explain negro Superman suddenly showing up in the next Justice League move.

Hollywood has no original thinkers. Everything is a rehash of the old except with changed genders or races to rewrite the narrative. The consequence is that I have purchased few movies in the last 20 years. I purchased a copy of Equalizer 2 on the merits of my appreciation for Denzel Washington's other movies. I liked it enough to purchase the first one. Dwayne Johnson, Liam Neeson and Gerard Butler have earned purchases for the same reason.

Hey, it worked for “Hamilton”.
There are hoards of idiots thirsting for a way to show their virtue.

Why does there need to be black Superman? Bigger question: why would Superman, a member of an alien race, look even remotely like an earth human?
