There was a woman who disappeared near in 2001, and was assumed murdered. There were two suspects. Her body was never discovered. Unfortunately, a key piece of evidence, the rug our body was in, was taken out of a dumpster and used by someone, before the police got it.

One suspect was arrested, but there were problems with the evidence. Ten years later, there were doubts it would ever reach prosecution.

In 2011, the suspect ran into the woman's brother in a Red Robin. The brother left, the came back. The suspect walked to Pete's Coffee, and the brother followed, where they talk some more.

Then the brother shot the suspect dead, went back to the car and shot himself.

Because of the incident, they did a test matching the the suspect's car with the victim's missing rug. So the case was closed, because he was dead.

But when the brother shot his sister's murderer, he thought the killer would never be punished. And maybe he never would have been.

A relative of mine went to school with the brother and knew the whole family.
