How stupid do they think Californians are that they would fall for the same thing twice?
Oh wait....never mind.
No one’s going to take an Amtrack to Vegas. It feels like riding a SLOW Greyhound.
The streets of Vegas are already beginning to resemble the streets of LA & SF...
Rapid rail would complete the job...
Mob must be pushing hard for it.
Wow
Can’t pee that money away fast enough, i didnt think we had any mony left to pee away
Are you kidding? This is Federal coin. Free money! Feinswine, her husband and all their cronies will be lining up at the trough for $$$. And what do you know, Hunter Biden is a "noted train expert". Maybe Hunter can be the "Train Czar".
They want rail all along the Colorado Front Range, at least from Ft. Collins to Pueblo. One of the dumbest ideas I have heard of in a while. RTD can't get enough passengers on light rail in the metro area, how in the wide wide world of sports can there be enough passengers for intercity rail???
Of course, they have big plans for Cali too, including the aforementioned Las Vegas train. Check it out.

A high speed train to fricking VICTORVILLE? They must all be stoned as bats.
There is a fair amount of low cost bus service from LA to Las Vegas.
People that travel on public transit prefer cheap.
China built lots of high-speed rail but low-paid Chinese workers prefer the cheap bus instead.
No good economic purpose, just waste and disappation
The USA is not Europe - our metro areas really sprawl.
Metro LA spans from 40 miles west of Union Station to 40 miles southeast and 60 miles to the east.
In Europe the close-in areas within a short subway ride of high-speed rail stations are generally the more affluent areas.
In the USA, most of the affluent people avoid urban centers and never use public transit.
I doubt that even five percent of LA County residents know where Victorville is and less than one percent could tell you how to get there from downtown LA.
Why? I-15 works just fine.
Covid has really whacked public transit systems.
About half the riders will never return.
They don’t intend to ever run out of other people’s money!
My area of Florida now has fairly good air service.
Allegiant uses very large airplanes and runs point-to-point service for as many days of the week (1, 2 or 3) as is economically justified. They fly from very early to very late to maximize use of each airplane.
One hundred twenty feet of airplane is cheaper than 300 miles of high-speed railroad track.
Will those who are too broke for a ticket back to SoCal get a free ride?
I miss Willie Choo choo Green.
There have been no less than 3 proposals in my lifetime to put a High Speed Train from SoCal to Vegas with all Private Money, NO Taxpayer Funds, and they have all been Shot Down and Buried by the Sierra Club and Friends.
