Guys back then were permanently messed up from shellshock, too. The difference back then was government let em drink a lot and take it out on each other and family. Because government wasnt going to help them, other than to tell them to get over it. Now not so much.

As George Carlin said, "I’ll bet you if we’d have still been calling it 'shellshock', some of those Vietnam veterans might have gotten the attention they needed at the time."
