“Netanyahu’s right-wing religious bloc have entertained a government propped up by the Islamist Ra’am party...
Ra’am may be the Kingmaker in Israel.
Doubt it.
"He's a conservative Jewish Zionist! He's a socialist Jew-hating Muslim! But together, they're Semetic Sidekicks! And you've never seen a more awkward pairing! Join us every week as these political opposites attempt to govern Israel! You'll never tire of their wacky schemes and you'll PLOTZ up laughing! Check it out on your INFIDELIVISION! Only on WCIU Channel 50!"
I think the media is trying to drive home the idea of how "scary" and "extreme" Ra'am is, but ironically they sound better on social issues than the "conservative" Likud.
In any case, my money is on them being unable to form a government and Israel headed to its FIFTH straight election. ::Sigh::
I've already stated my preference that these endless elections are not solving anything for them, and they need to have a "California recall style referendum" (Q1.: Should Netanyahu remain as PM?" Q2. If not, WHO should replace him?) All parties should agree to honor the results for at least 2 years. Sadly, that ain't gonna happen.
