I’ve heard that attendance at WNBA games is a small fraction of the NBA. And that TV ratings are also very small compared to the NBA. THUS, the women’s basketball games just don’t generate the revenue to pay the women players on par with the men in the NBA.
If the same ratio holds in other sports, men vs. women, that explains the disparity.
