I read the paper and did the math. Taking 100 grams of Vitamin C is 100,000 milligram, which is 16,6666.6% of the daily rate. The central dogma of orthomolecular medicine seems to be that if some nutrient is good, megadoses of that nutrient are much better and can cure anything. Since Vitamin C is water-soluble, consuming more than the body needs will result in it being excreted in urine. That means it's not to stick around in the body to do much good, if it even does do good. That's going to make a lot of Vitamin C down the toilet.

Flushing sound . . .

Humans, du to a genetic mutation that occurred In primates long ago, do not naturally produce vitamin C like most other animals.

The amount of vitamin C that is considered the RDA is a joke.

For example, a healthy dog produces 18mg of vitamin C per day per pound of weight. A healthy goat produces 80 mg a day per lb of weight

Yet the RDA for an adult human is less than 1mg per lb per day.

Studies have shown again and again the benefits, even among animals that make it themselves that vitamin C supplements aid in their health and boost their immune systems. Not surprising since it’s an anti inflammatory.
