In the cost/benefit analysis, there is no benefit because the spike protein in the vaccine is not specific to Corona Virus but is tailored to another virus in the Corona family which most people, if they've ever had any of a variety of illnesses in their lives, have already encountered and for which their body already made antibodies.
From annother response elsewhere:
Which specific vaccine would that be that contains a spike protein unrelated to the Covid-19 virus? Moderna?
All of them.
They say they don't have a sample of the isolated Covid-19 virus to give to researchers (and vaccine developers) so they cannot claim to know what spike protein to make.
THerefore, they chose a spike protein for another type of corona virus. So the promotional materials are rather deceptive. An entire article written about the Covid-19 virus, and when they get to the spike protein they use the generic term "the Corona Virus spike protein " so people just assume it's for the Covid-19 versionof the Corona Virus.
At this point I’m getting the vaccine so I will be able to travel. Overseas. Often—for the next 10 years. That is my goal (and was before covid). My rationale for getting the vaccine is not really health. I just see the writing on the wall! No concerts or plane trips for the unvaccinated! So vaccinated I will be.
Next week is my appt—in a “Waterworld” amusement park! Funny. But happy to be part of history. Go Trump and Operation Warp Speed! I am grateful for his efforts, and efforts of the scientists. Go USA. We rock.
