If they wanted the public to protect themselves, they would have had an eye protection mandate in place as well.

Yes, you can get a viral infection via your eyes. Even HIV.

Think...why do scientists/technicians who work in "Bio" labs wear laboratory grade eye protection?

Being concerned about getting infected, and walking around with your eye's unprotected is 100% ignorance/foolishness.

Having served with the US Army chemical corps short of MOP4 level personal protective equipment an airborne particle spread virus with proven formite transmission via particle settling and a fecal oral route there is little people with average protective skills and equipment can do other than avoid contact with an infected or an infected surface. Full face respirators with double silicone seals and filtering at a level of N99,or P100 would be the absolute minimum to effectively prevent inoculation in a challenged environment. Short of that level it’s kabuki theater.

Yep. I really thought they would push the face shields or something. Easy to catch in your eyes.

Good point. I wear sunglasses into every store and have for years. You can catch a virus just as easily through your eyes.
